Connect Salto and Peoplevine

Understand how to create a Salto and Peoplevine connection in order to use Salto keycards to automatically check in members.

Configure Salto to communicate with Peoplevine

1. Log in to Salto Space.

2. In the Tools drop-down menu, select Alarm events.

   
3. Click + Add at the bottom of the page to configure the connection.

   
4. In the menu that displays, fill in the following data:

   • Name: Peoplevine

   • Description: Activate Peoplevine Check-in

   
5. Click Edit. This will enable you to add a tracker.

6. In the menu that displays, set Trigger Type to Audit trail event. The page will update the available options.

   
7. Configure the following information:

   • WHO: Select Any Cardholder.

   • WHERE: Select Any Access Points.

   • WHAT: Select all of the Door Open commands. There are many different types, be sure to select them all.

   
8. Click OK when you are finished.

9. Click the + button under the ACTIONS table.

   
10. Set the Type to Make web request.

    
11. The URL and Body fields on this page require the Post to URL and Body information from Peoplevine.

    1. Login to the Peoplevine Control Panel.

    2. Click Automate, and select Integrated Platforms.

    3. Select Salto under Access Control.

    4. Select a location (or create a new one) and click Generate Credentials.

    5. The Post to URL and Body information displays. Click OK and then Save to activate it.

       
12. Enter the Post to URL and Body data from the Peoplevine integration into the URL and Body on the Salto page.

    

Verify that the EXT ID field is available to the User profile in Salto

1. Click System and then click on General Options.

   
2. Click the Advanced tab and then click Add Parameter.

   
3. Double-click the SHOW_EXT_ID. It will populate the value with a 1, which turns it on.

   
4. Click OK, and then click Save.

5. Navigate to the User Profile in Salto.

6. In the profile information, you should now see EXT ID and a value in the field.

   

   • If you plan to use EXT ID for another purpose:

     1. Copy the EXT ID value.

     2. Navigate to Peoplevine Control Panel -> Rewards -> All members.

     3. Select the member to update.

     4. Paste the EXT ID into the Alternate ID Number field.

        
   • If you do not need this number for another purpose:

     1. Navigate to Peoplevine Control Panel -> Rewards -> All members.

     2. Select the member to update.

     3. Copy the Membership Number.

     4. Navigate back to the Salto profile.

     5. Paste the Membership Number from Peoplevine into the EXT ID in Salto, replacing the existing value.

7. The data will now be synced between Salto and Peoplevine and Salto keycards will be able to check members in to Peoplevine.
